Protect Our Home!

At PetCampo, 5% of our profits go directly to organizations that help preserve UK’s natural resources and cultural heritage. In recent years we have specifically focused on the UK conservation organisation, which is dedicated to protecting UK’s natural environment and the diverse cultures and ways of life it sustains. When you book your pet camping tours with us, you can be sure that you, too, are taking responsibility for protecting wild lives in the UK.

Sustainable Camping&Adventures

Supplies we use during in campsites:

  • Biodegradable dog waste bags: We offer biodegradable bags which could break down over time instead of traditional plastic bags.

  • Recyclable water bowls: We promise to offer recyclable and compostable bowls made from materials that could be re-used: bamboo, paper, and biodegradable plastics.

  • Organic pet food: we provide organic and locally sourced pet food in their meal plan. The food is made from sustainably grown crops without the use of harmful pesticides or chemicals.

  • Sustainable pet toys: Many pet toys are made from synthetic materials that are not biodegradable and can be harmful to the environment. PetCampo will offer sustainable pet toys made from materials such as recycled plastics, hemp, or organic cotton.

  • Eco-friendly cleaning products: Keeping pet camping areas clean is important, but using harsh chemicals can harm the environment. PetCampo offers eco-friendly cleaning products made from natural ingredients: vinegar, baking soda, and essential oils.

And we take pride in our contributions! We find comfort in the knowledge that camping experience continues to be an UK-responsible alternative to the big, worldwide corporations like Viator and TripAdvisor, which don’t give back to the communities they benefit from. Because it’s not enough simply to provide UK camping adventures; what counts is providing high-quality, responsibly-sourced tours while also remembering to give back.

In an effort to further aid our charitable contributions, we also founded the WWF-UK. WWF is the world’s leading independent conservation organisation. Our mission is to create a world where people and wildlife can thrive together. This organization is dedicated to encouraging responsible traveling by highlighting the issues that threaten the UK and increasing donations to the UK WWF Conservation Foundation. We aim to extend this reach by growing a collective of companies, vendors, and travel partners who are passionate about conservation efforts to promote the project.

Years later, we’re happy to say that we are exceeding these goals. As of 2022, we are proud to say we have donated over $80,000 to UK charities! We continue to provide significant donations that help sustain hard-working UK-friendly organizations. In particular, funds from our excursions encourage the conservation of the UK wilderness.

Oceans provide food and nutrition for billions of people, supporting millions more in fishing, aquaculture, tourism and renewable energy. They defend coastal areas from volatile weather patterns and act as giant carbon sinks. Two thirds of these ‘international waters’ (or ‘high seas’) give all countries rights to fish, ship and explore these – only 1% of them are protected.

Every time our large group migrated from a nightly campsite, our impact became evident in the compaction and discoloration of the fragile tundra where we’d slept. We must join up to implement and monitor this treaty with a long-term collective view of protecting the oceans.

“As the thirst for sustainable travel increases YoY in all regions, cities should double down on eco-green developments, sustainable transport, and clean air targets in order to thrive as hubs for visitors and digital nomads alike.”
